Welcome Back, Panthers!
Dear Purdy Families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome everyone to the 2021-2022 school year! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful summer! All of us at Purdy are preparing for the return of our Panthers, and we look forward to a positive year together. Our theme this year is “Purdy Panthers are Stronger Together.” We are committed to working together to support our students so they will have a positive school experience. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children this upcoming school year.
As you have probably heard, masks will be required for both students and staff when we return to school. Please help your children prepare for this prior to coming back to school. Our Panthers had a positive experience last year, and I look forward to another great year together, even if we are masked.
We hope to share class placement information with you by the 27th of August. Please remember that all assignments are tentative, as our enrollment and staffing are still fluctuating. For those of you ready to purchase school supplies, we will post supply lists on the Purdy website. Purdy will be supplying most school supplies needed such as pencils, paper, folders, scissors, etc. Headphones and a few requests for families to purchase will be listed on our webpage by grade level by Aug. 14th. If you are unable to get these supplies, please let us help. You are welcome to respond to this email for support or contact our counselor, Beth Ruffner, at email@example.com.
We are still in the planning stages of our back to school events. We will find out more this week about safety protocols and guidelines and look forward to communicating our plans with you soon. Please know that there are still many unknowns at this point. We are working hard to determine social distancing, specialist/recess/lunch schedules, and what our school day will look like. As of now, the building is still closed to parents/volunteers/visitors. Our office will open August 24th. We appreciate your patience.
The district has also announced that they are implementing a new communication tool, Parent Square, for all families. Please look for an email to come later in the week.
On behalf of the Purdy staff, we look forward to fostering new relationships and building on existing ones. We are committed to providing and nurturing a positive, safe environment that inspires all children to reach their full potential. Welcome and thank you for being a part of our Purdy school community.
If I can be of support in any way, please reach out via email.
